Why should I use ACE Debt Recovery?

The use of a quality third party collection/billing service provides the client the following benefits:

Reduced overhead
Increased cash flow
Increased production
Minimizes future bad debt problems

How long does it take to get my past due accounts paid?

Not all claims are collectible as some debtors may skip, file bankruptcy, become deceased or just refuse to pay. The age of the debt also plays a part in how long it may take to collect. If the debt is old and/or the debtor requires backup paperwork. This can prolong any collections.

Can I add the collection fees to the past due account balance?

It's our understanding that you can charge the collection and/or legal fees to the past due account balance if your patients have signed a contract/agreement and/or written payment policy stating they understand and agree that they are responsible for any additional collection/legal fees incurred on unpaid balances. If you are uncertain, we suggest you seek legal advice.

Can you help me get a judgment and garnishment?

Yes, with your consent, we will seek judgment and garnishment. The court costs are required to be pre-paid, and will be reimbursed once a judgment is received and the debt is collected through wage garnishments, bank levy or asset sale.

What is "skip tracing"?

Skip tracing is the process of locating information on the past due account holder, such as a current or alternate address and telephone number, place of employment, names and addresses of family members, friends, or ex-spouses, locating assets such as property, bank accounts, or automobiles, finding relatives' telephone numbers, and much more.

What is the difference between ACE and a large collection agency?

Typically, larger  collection agencies give you a "one-size-fits-all" collection approach which yields very poor results for health care receivables in the individual to mid-sized practices.  Generally, they mail a series of generic "fill-in-the-blank" collection letters to the patients last known address and use lower-paid and inexperienced "telemarketers" to contact your debtors through a computerized auto-dialer. These agencies will NOT customize their letters to your debtor, will NOT spend any time or money on skip tracing (since most individual to mid-sized practice account balances aren't very high).  It is rare, if at all they will go so far as to locate family members, assets, business affiliations, etc., because this requires investment of an employees time & salary.  Therefore, not giving all your accounts the time and effort deserved.

How can I determine how my current collection agency is performing?

We ask that if you are currently using the services of a collection agency, compile a list of the accounts they have not recovered in the past 6 months and let ACE Debt Recovery work on those "uncollectable" accounts. Let us show you just how "collectable" they really are! If we recover from those debtors, than you should seriously consider assigning all your accounts to ACE Debt Recovery.

Does the age of the debt make it more difficult to collect?

Yes, the older a debt the harder it is to collect.  It is always best to refer accounts within the first 60 days.

What documents are needed to collect on the account?

ACE Debt Recovery needs the following documents: (If Available)

Account Ledger/Payment History
Patient Registration Form
Signed Payment Policy or Financial Agreement

What is needed from me (the Client) to get my referrals started?

We only need your practice information to generate a service agreement for your review and signature.  Our service agreement details what is to be expected of each party and it is not a time specific contract.
